I’m very excited about a new post I’ve been working on. However, it’s not finished and I like you all too much to serve you a 5 hour brisket. So instead here is something to think about. An appetizer till the meal is done.

If these are three methods for adding enjoyment to your life, do you know how to use all three? (If even on a smaller scale.)

You and the little Misses have planned a holiday in Mexico. Every year you take this trip around this time of year, and every time you go to the most relaxing little resort –if you can call it that- in Puerto Vallarta. The area has gotten busier over the years, but you two still go to the same little place you first visited 11 years ago. It is one of few places fully owned by locals, and is tiny compared to the other resorts. Still, it is your place, and when you step onto the property you feel as much at home as you did in the States. It’s funny, your only there for one week a year but somehow half the staff remembers you. It seems that way anyway. The sun and the waves make you forget all about your work. It never fails that when you come, an excitement spreads over you and you feel so very alive. After all it is your own personal paradise!

You have planned your vacation for the west coast of Mexico. You love going to the beach and this year it’s Huatulco! Every year you take a trip somewhere down there. It is so exhilarating to see a new strip of ocean and enjoy the sun and sand. You have looked into a few places in the area that might be good for snorkeling and your fiancé says she will be happy just to watch the waves come in. They have several restaurants you are looking forward to and why shouldn’t you –it is all inclusive, whoaaa-hoo! Meeting new random people throughout the week will be fun, and you are ready to be away to a place that you enjoy so much. After all, why not see all that paradise has to offer!

You have planned a trip to Chile. Alright, you have sort of planned a trip to Chile –you are going there in a few weeks. You have never been there before, you do not speak Spanish –is that even what they speak there?- but you have always heard about the great Andes Mountain Range. It sounds absolutely awe-inspiring to see the towers of rock break free of the earth. So this is the year you are going to see them. It is going to be different, and there is a lot to figure out –what the climate is, how to travel, where to stay, how to act, how to stay safe. Yep it is going to be an adventure. Honestly, you do not really even know what to expect, and your girlfriend wonders why you two are going someplace normal like Mexico. However, it was time to try something new. Whatever Chile is like, it sounds like paradise.
